I'm going to a writing workshop in June where this guy (Jeff Gerke) will be speaking. I've never read any of his stuff, though.

Sounds Awesome Aljeron12
Oh and about the add, I'm wondering why someone would be advertising wedding cakes on a writing forum.
???
It just doesn't make sense; no one is getting married are they? And I think it’s a person not a spam bot, I checked out the website and it hasn't spammed me. You won't believe the first thing I read on the wedding cake website though haha
Cute Wedding Ideas
The cupcake is the new little fashion for weddings! The cupcake is a small round cake presented in a pretty paper and beautifully decorated! There are iced cupcakes, chocolate cupcakes, decorated with cream and even custom cupcakes! Let your imagination free and adapt the “cupcake attitude”! ect.
That’s a sample of the page.
I don't know about you guys, but cupcakes and me just don't agree.
lol

I got back from the workshop Saturday and It. Was. Amazing. Gerke, for his part, was a great speaker with tons of great advice for us. I look forward to going again next year and he might be back as well.

On another note, I just realized that I'm friends with a guy whose cousin is Jay Lauser -- the founder of Holy Worlds. I've known him for over a year and just found this out.

O_O

Honestly, Christian fiction, as it is. Is GAG worthy. I was at the library the other day, and just for fun, I walked into "Inspirational Aisle" just to see if anything would catch my eye.

I saw an interesting fiction by Francine Rivers on the life of Jonathan, so thought I'd give it a go.

I also brought Inheritance by Paolini home with me that night...

Let's just say that I stayed up till three in the morning finishing the Inheritance Cycle. Several times, I have cracked the spine of the Francine Rivers book and it's AWFUL.

There is NO character development. She throws maybe 20 weird Hebrew names at you in the first chapter and then expects you to care about all of them. :P It's going back to the library unread.

:( If I ever find an exemplary piece of Christian fiction, I will devote my life to advertising it. (Well, probably not...but I'll be thrilled.)

I fear that Tolkien and C.S. Lewis will never be reincarnated. :(

Honestly, I don't even look at Christian fiction. At least not modern Christian fiction -- Lewis and his generation are still good.
