So, character/plotty ideas:

1) I like the idea of having the magicians fighting with each other, but it makes me really want to have a magician character who decides all the fighting is stupid and that magic should be used to better mankind, etc etc, especially now with the water crisis. She's... kind of an idealist. But I think that could make a good sub-plot, maybe? Like, she goes around trying to unite the magicians? I don't really care if she succeeds, I just like the idea of somebody trying. (I'll have to be careful, though--it sounds like something I would try and do were I in a similar situation and I REALLY want to avoid self-inserting.)

2) Someone, I think it was either Lassi or Isi, mentioned djinn; I adore djinn and I think it would be awesome to have them in this story. Like, maybe not even as characters, but like legends as the origin of magic or something? Or, like, they're in hiding, and nobody really believes in them anymore? Idk, I just really like the idea of having djinn and I think it's in keeping with the whole desert theme.

I like your subplot, Kitti. You can use that if you want. Not sure about the use of the djinn; we can add them if we want... especially if anyone else can think of a subplot or something of the kind involving them.

lets not make it too complicated yet. lets wait on the djinn...lets just get rolling with the story and add that later. thats myt opinion anyway...

Maybe the djinn can hold the anwser to the dissapearing water that I suppose we will eventually need, if we get that far in the story?

Ooh, yes! Like, maybe the use of magic has gotten twisted, or something? Not through any specific fault of the magicians, but a combination of the djinn withdrawing and political pressure to fix the weather?
