Idella had left the house again hours ago, and stood in a grove of trees far away from town. What am I? She asked herself the same question over and over. Why did she feel guilty for what she was doing? Ramen killed Sadek, her father, and so he had to die. Why was she feeling terrible about it?

She didn't feel like Idella Delengr anymore. That sweet, pretty, innocent girl she had once been. She didn't feel like that anymore.

Than who am I?

"No, Lauren!" Ailill shouted with tears in his eyes, as he strained against the chains, trying to reach her. He watched the blood pool around her as his vision continued to blur. He wished desperately that he had learned healing, like his sister--though that wouldn't have done him any good since the chains were anti-magic.

Falchion shrugged. "Then I'll make extra sure to teach him compassion and care for others, so he'll be responsible about drinking blood."

"What?" Myrlon gasped. "Wh-why? And what about my daughter? Is she all right?"

Calandria picked up her pack and slung in over her back. "Ready?" she asked Kynn.
He grinned at her. "Of course."

Lauren stirred slightly, but simply lay, unconscious for the next several hours.

Eventually Ailill stopped straining against the chains and continued to watch Lauren, tears streaming down his face. He had just gotten her back, and how he had lost her again. This time for good; because he was sure she would never survive something like this.

A long while later, Lauren's eyes flickered open. Her head felt like it didn't belong to her, and everything was disorienting. She knew that something bad had happened but she didn't know what. She couldn't feel her left arm. She turned her head to look over at Ailill.

Hearing her stir, Ailill looked up, shocked to see her awake. Quickly, he brushed away his tears. "Lauren?" He asked softly, almost not believing she was alive.

Lauren looked at him, confused. "What's...going on?"

"We're in Zark's home," Ailill told her, forcing his voice not to shake. "Lauren, are you okay?"

"I'm not trying to steal her! She's just letting me live here!"

Aeolus said, "Well you have it all figured out." He kissed her tenderly then said, "Your pregnacy will be much faster though. Depending on what side is dominant...it could mean you'll have the baby in five to seven months. it may weaken you."
