Soooo...this is a story idea which I decided not to use. The setting is rather like the Roman Colloseum, although this is set in a fantasy world. The main group of characters are a group of gladiators who were former galley slaves and the main character is Antius. I'll be writing him, and ya'll can make up the other characters. :D

Name: Antius
Gender: Male
Age: 29
Appearance: average height, well-developed muscle from his years as a slave, reddish brown hair which goes down over his ears, grey-green eyes, he has a large brand on his left shoulder
Personality: Kind, but at the same time gruff, a quiet type who usually only speaks when spoken to our when around someone he's close to or if he thinks he should speak up
Background: That'll come out as the story progresses
Magical/Physical Abilities: He can't use the power which humans call Drenwyr (basically magic). He wields a dagger and a longsword


Edite: the main char is Antius...I just accidentally wrote Angelus :P

Description: 5 4', with creamy skin, dark brown hair, and vivid green eyes. She has a shy smile, and is rather slim for a girl.
Personality: She's been a slave all her life, so she's used to serving people. Her master is currently a prominent patrician, who has had her for six years now. She has a good sense of humor, and likes to laugh. She is terrified of her master though, who is known for having a bad temper and a quick fist.
Background: She's from a Britain-like place, but was brought over to the Rome-like place when the Celtic-like people's were conquered, and she was three.

Race: Drenwyryn (they can shapeshift)
Age: Unknown
Appearance: jet black hair, tan, all white eyes except for a black slit in the center, 6'0", slender but strong, wears a black robe belted at the waist
Personality: Witty, unafraid to the point of being a bit of a daredevil, loves to joke around but can also take a dangerous or important situation by the horns
Background: He was captured by slave traders and would have escaped had his powers not been taken away. He can still morph into the form of a raven, but only for a certain amount of time and his wings have been clipped. He is friends with Antius.
Abilities: shapeshifting; fights with a staff with a blade on either end
