Okay, Frodo, since you're not listening in to our IM session, here's what it is; Jaed and Naethan were raised by someone, who they thought cared about them, and then when they learned he wanted to turn them into super-assassins, ran away. He's the one who's sending the monster after them. So, any ideas/suggestions? Particularly about how Ranen fits in. Was he always with them, did they meet him later, did they rescue him from something or vice versa, etc.

As for Ranen . . . hmmm . . . okay, so this was how I was originally thinking of his past when I first concocted him. His dad was like a traveling entertainer (that's how he knows how to juggle - and he can do sleight-of-hand too, I be thinking), and so they moved around a lot - - then his mom died and his dad was killed somehow...
Maybe the dad being killed could be how he meets Jaed and Naethan. And remember, he's only seventeen, and I'm thinking he met them after he was ten at least.... so yea, I gotta go eat lunch. :) Any more ideas?
