AT LAST! IT CAME ALL THE WAY FROM COLORADO,BUT I FINALLY READ IT!
I'm just glad Graham didn't do an Eowyn/Witch-King with Bryar and Farimaal. I seriously thought that would happen.
I think the "seven" that he mentioned on his blog are: Saegan, Bryar, Benjaih, Cheymonter, Malek, Rulalin, and Farimaal, with Tashmiren, Corlas Valon, Kosti and Caan round out the eleven.
I knew the Vulstrym were the fourth race, but I had a hunch Garion was Alazare.During the Malek/Benjaih scene, I thought Benjaih might somehow be Alazare, but I wasn't too surprised that it was Valzaan. But I though the quote on the back was Malak's.
I also loved the part where Valzaan admits his suspicions of Synoki. Aljeron's reaction is priceless. "You mean I may have traveled Kirthanin with MALAK!"
I was glad about the double wedding, but I was surprised at Saegan's crush on Bryar. Man, is he closed-lipped. I never suspected.
Overall, I loved this book. The ending made it all worthwhile--all the suspense, all the anger, all the frustration. And having to wait just made the ending even better. In fact, it was a year and eighteen days between my first reading of FoD and my first reading of AMHM.

There are three rules of writing a novel. Unfortunately, no one knows what they are.
