WHAT??!?! no roasting? tut tut *gets out a flamethrower*

quote
>i think they are terrific! i definetly dont worship them, but i actually quite enjoyed the fourth book, read it in three days!
you took THREE days!!!! i read it in one... :D

And yup there is nothing new under the sun but LB came pretty close...

- gandalf = Valzaan ? naaaah. Gandalf was a magical dude sent by the Valar to help middle earth (along with Curunir(saruman) Radagast(don't know original name) Allater and Pallando whereas Valzaans just a blind old man who allfather called - gandalf uses his own power tho it is restricted(see silmarillion (i think)) - valzaan uses the power of allfather unrestricted yet not at his command - they are both different. oh yeah and gandalf had a beard :P
one last point - Malekim are too powerful even to be Uruks. they are closer to tolkiens trolls. but why does every new fantasy have to be compared with tolkien??? Tolkiens work tho long-winded and sometimes too detailed simply cannot be equalled so people should stop complaining that it hasn't been...

and why does everyone here seem to hate eragon? (which is now goin to be 4 books YAY!)

i really didn't feel like reading all 10 of these pages, so i'm gonna throw my opinion in on the end...

LB is good. I have thoroughly enjoyed the series and am very anxious to see how it ends. He is amazingly descriptive in his battle scenes. I love that. The characters are relatable and they are easy reading books.

U thought his series was the best I had ever read, until I started reading Stephen Lawhead. The guy is amazing. I don't know if any of y'all have read his books, but bar-none, he is the best. He rides mainly Celtic fiction. Currently he is retelling the Robin Hood series. His 5 part series "The Pendragon Cycle" retells the Arthurian legacy. It is incredible.

So, if you're looking for a book with some more depth, check out Stephen Lawhead.
But, LB's stuff is still great! I'm really glad we finally have an update about when the final book will be out! I can't wait to get it!

"He is amazingly descriptive in his battle scenes."

actually, he is totally not descriptive. Try reading black hawk down, THAT'S descriptive battle scenes.

So, the BotB administrator has been more than co-operative with me and others now, so i retract what i had on my sig, but leave the picture because i, well, think it looks pretty cool...

hm... i liked Stephen Lawhead's celtic series but at like the third book i got ten pgs in and all ther hero was thinkin about was sex so i decide to drop it.....

and i still hold by my belief that BoTB is NOT the best series ever.... it lakse origanality, good quality, drags on, and is way, WAY to preachy....

Lawhead's doing robin hood?!?!?! *jaw drops...* now why hadn't i heard about that...
not read all of 'em but the pendragon cycle was amazing.

and i your wanting descriptive battle scenes check out Gotrek and Felix the first omnibus (i read it cos i was bored and my cousin left it lying around...) - the titles get repetitive and the stroyline REALLY needs some work but the battle scenes... now THEY were realistic but then it Is based on a strategy game so i can understand the fighting focus...
