calm urself. THE GRENDOLAI ARE NOT ORIGINAL! Tolkien had a VRY simalar character in Middle-Earth if u've read the Silmarilion and the book of lost tales, etc. Malikim were original. Great Bear was not totally original. It was half-and-half. I think the books are great. I am a total story succer though. However if you get me in a sensible mood, where i am not so bored that ill do something crazy, then i am a vry tough book critic. and these books are solid. although i do admit it harbors of LOTR alot, they are solid.

I actually wasn't freaking out, italics mustn't have been on my mind that day.

No, I haven't read the Sillmarlion (it's collecting dust on my shelf) or the Lost Tales, but hey, every fantasy has some sort of unworldly bad guy.

personally, (and you don't have to like my opinion, just read it and respect where I come from :P) I think this series is a very good series, as far as fantasy books go. There is no magic, which I am thankful for. When I read the books, especially the 3rd one, I learn to appriciate my God and Savior, Jesus Christ, more. Even if the books were not intended this way, I read them and see parallels to the Old Testament (in the Bible) And when Benjiah wields Allfather's power, it reminds me that my God is great and can do marvalous things. and while I don't consider LB Graham the best writer I've ever read (sorry LB :P) I think he did an excellant job on his books. That is just my honest opinion, and thanks for reading.

Cuz we like avoiding too controversial stuff... I guess, thats my opinion. I rather not read a book if I have to debate myself whether its right or wrong... I'm suppose to enjoy the book for crying OUT LOUD!

yea, thats my opinion.... even so u didn't ask for it. lol

Yes, but I still like BotB. The main difference is prophets instead of wizards, and the good vs evil is more biblical. I like how it reminds of the Old Testiment and other stuff.
