ok in book four, right before the dragons show up benjiah sings a song and it goes like this, peace my son and lay you down, the sun has gone away, wake and find the dawn at hand, tomorrow is today- tomorrow is today

ok well in book one in the prologue andunin sings that exact song! after his son dies, and im going out on a limb here but when benjiah sings it you see that synoki gets extremely angry, and i have a feeling it has to do with the story line. any thoughts??? could it even be possible that synoki is andunin??? =O i could be completely off track but why would synoki get so mad when benjiah sings the song? gimme your thoughts please

Hmm.. interesting. I don't think Synoki is Andunin, but the song... I don't know.

Interesting thought . . . but all we've seen seems to indicate that Synoki is Malek (why else would everyone call him "Master"?).

I am guessing, though, that Synoki was mad because somehow that song may have brought conviction to the descendants/followers of Andundin.

yeah i didn't really have much hope that he was either, but it was a thought, i guess they all could call him master because he is the leader of the nolthanim but who knows, and LB never says what happens to andunin...i dunno maybe malek went through a rebirth and sort of posessed andunin haha, im going crazy

I thought the song was a really neat touch- I'm interested to see what transpires because of it. There isn't really any way that Benjiah could have known the song, so it came through him from Allfather; it was definitely significant. Synoki/Malek's reaction pretty much confirms that fact.
I really liked that L.B. chose to use that song at that point. Well done!

Also, that song seems to have done two things besides causing Synoki's reaction. In fact, I think Synoki's reaction was due to the fact that he knew these two things would happen, and saw them happening.

-I don't think that the song itself did this, but the same power that brought it to Benjiah's mind caused it to have this effect. The clouds parted. Completely. Valzaan and Co. are still leagues away, but they can see something that the people with Benjiah can also see - the dragons. It is a crystal clear day. the sun is shining.

- the song and the sun both seem to have had adverse effects on the Nolthanim, Malekim, and Vulsitrim also. The sun blinded them, but before that, I seem to remember that they were moved to awe by the song as well. They recognized it. If I had to guess, Andunin was not the only Nolthanim who sang that song to his child. It was something of a Nolthanim lulaby. When Malek failed them, they continued to sing this song to their children as a song of hope in the day they might all return to the mainland (later the world of light) triumphant. They know that there is no way this boy knows the song. And they are amazed. I got the impression that some were nearly brought to tears.

I wonder if LB saw POTC3 before he wrote that part

Yo, maybe Synoki is Andunin, like somebody said...it would explain the "Master" part...that's interesting though...where IS Andunin????? Will he be a part in redeeming his people?????

I suspect that he has been dead for two thousand years, but I could be wrong. This is a shot in the dark, especially with all we know about Farimaal, but do you think that maybe Farimaal is Andunin. It would take a strange, possibly quite unoriginal series of events to allow this to happen, but I just had the thought.
